ROOTED IN IRELAND
Founded by Binta Kyauta Salam and Anna Chivuga Keane, PCI addresses isolation at the intersection of race, gender, and sexual orientation within an Irish context.
Black Irish identity is not synonymous with migration. We are laying careful institutional groundwork to build a permanent, dignified civic home for generations to come.
Our Core Affirmation
Dignity, Care, and Permanent Belonging
Black LGBTQI+ lives are integral to Ireland's national fabric. We are shaping spaces where our identities, health, and leadership are affirmed with intentional care.
Planned Programme Areas
Areas of Work
These proposed developmental pillars outline our planned areas of community action, moving deliberately from consultation into sustainable collective programmes.
Community and Belonging
Wellbeing and Support
Policy and Advocacy
Creating regular peer gatherings, culturally attuned safe spaces, and social connection for Black LGBTQI+ people across Ireland.
Developing affirming mental health pathways, peer support circles, and trauma-informed care rooted in intersectional lived experiences.
Advancing civic rights, institutional research, and public representation to eliminate racial and sexual orientation disparities in Ireland.
We invite community members, queer people of colour, and civic partners to participate in our ongoing foundational consultation.
